Job Overview:

These research jobs are purely temporary and project-based. Selected candidates will work on CSB-funded projects related to recombinant proteins, silk fibroin processing, biomaterials development, and bone regeneration research at ISBR Bangalore.

Available Positions:

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 02 Positions

Title of the Project: [SIT08020SNC] Development of Recombinant Cocoonase from
Bombyx mori and Samia ricini as a Scalable and Sustainable Degumming Agent for Silk
Fibroin Processing

    • Duration: Jan 2026-Dec 2028
    • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Genetics/ Molecular Genetics/ Sericulture/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences with minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
    • Desirable: Experience in Biomaterial Technology OR Molecular biology will be preferred.

Title of the Project: [BPS08021SNC] Development of Silk Fibroin based composite scaffolds for bone regeneration

    • Duration: Jan 2026-Dec 2028
    • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Genetics/ Molecular Genetics/ Sericulture/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences with minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
    • Desirable: Experience in Molecular Biology OR Protein Chemistry will be preferred.
  • Emoluments: Junior Research Fellow @ 21,000/- per month + admissible HRA (JRF with NET/GATE @ 31,000/- per month + admissible HRA)
  • Age Limit: 35 years as on 12.01.2026. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, Women, and physically challenged candidates.

  • Conducting molecular biology and protein chemistry experiments
  • Assisting in biomaterials and silk fibroin research
