Job Description
Intrinsic Foundries is leveraging the power of microalgae to convert carbon emissions into profitable, high-value biochemicals. We are working towards sustainable biotechnology solutions by integrating advanced algal cultivation and carbon capture technologies.
Role Overview
As an Intern – Engineering Support, you will assist the engineering team in scaling up microalgae cultures, developing DoE-based carbon capture experiments, and operating tubular and other photobioreactors. You will play a crucial role in supporting smooth plant operations through monitoring, data recording, analysis, cleaning, and troubleshooting activities. Candidates must be available for a minimum duration of 2 months, with preference given to those available for up to 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily operations of photobioreactors.
- Support data collection and maintain accurate records of operational parameters (temperature, flow, culture characteristics, etc.).
- Perform data analysis of reactor runs.
- Identify deviations and assist in troubleshooting processes.
- Assist in scaling up microalgae cultures while adhering to safety and culture maintenance protocols.
- Support design and execution of new experiments related to enhanced carbon capture.
Requirements
- Ability to work on-site in a production/research environment involving chemicals, microbial cultures, and mechanical equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, compliance, and culture integrity.
- Preference for candidates with wet-lab experience or prior exposure to microbial cultures or chemical handling.
