Job Summary
D-Nome is seeking a motivated Application Scientist to support environmental diagnostics
projects, with a focus on wastewater and water quality testing. The role involves extensive
fieldwork, sample collection, preliminary screening, and support for laboratory and project
activities. Fresh graduates with strong academic or hands-on training are encouraged to
apply.
Required Technical Skills
Sample Collection & Handling
• Collection of wastewater, natural water, and/or aquaculture samples from field sites
• Safe handling, transportation, and storage of environmental samples in accordance
with SOPs
• Accurate recording of metadata, including GPS location, environmental parameters,
and field observations
Screening & Processing
• Initial screening for microbial, chemical, and physical parameters (e.g., pH, turbidity,
microbial load)
• Preparation of samples for downstream molecular or microbiological assays
• Use of basic water quality testing kits and standard microbial culture methods
Data & Project Support
• Accurate documentation and data entry into project databases
• Support in report preparation, client deliverables, and coordination of field campaigns
• Assistance with logistics related to sampling and project execution
Essential Qualifications
• BSc or MSc in Microbiology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or a related
field
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in wastewater testing, environmental microbiology,
or water quality assessment
Freshers with strong academic knowledge or field/lab training will be considered
