Key Responsibilities
The Biomedical Specialist ensures the operational readiness and proper documentation of biomedical devices, fulfilling a vital biomedical job function:
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine checks on biomedical equipment under supervision, assisting in minor repairs, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
- Installation Support: Support in unpacking, positioning, and connecting biomedical devices during installation; assist in pre-dispatch and post-installation checks under the guidance of leads.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed logs for equipment usage, breakdowns, service calls, and calibration. Update checklists, daily reports, and safety forms.
- Logistics & Inventory: Coordinate with the site store for retrieval and issuance of biomedical spares and accessories; track return of faulty parts and follow up on replacements.
- Compliance: Follow SOPs for equipment handling, movement, and disposal; participate in on-the-job training sessions and adhere to safety instructions.
Qualification & Expereience
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
- Required Experience: 3 – 15 years
