Winter Internship Programme
The student registered for a degree in any academic institutions, desirous to carry out Internship at IIT Bhubaneswar in the fields related to the School of Basic Sciences, Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences, Electrical and Computer Sciences, Infrastructure, Mechanical Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management and Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering may apply for the Internship Programme.
Applications are invited for Winter Internships 2025
1. Eligibility
- Students registered for a degree program in any academic institution desirous to carry out Internships at IIT Bhubaneswar shall apply.
2. Duration
- The duration of the internship shall be between 3-4 weeks during winter vacation of IIT Bhubaneswar.
3. Application Submission
- Applications must be submitted through the web portal only.
- Offline applications and applications through emails shall not be entertained.
- After the deadline, no applications shall be accepted.

5. Selection Procedure
- Preliminary screening of applications by the School/Department followed by selection through a selection committee.
6. Notification of Selection & Communication
- Selected candidates shall be informed through emails only.
- The final list of selected interns shall also be displayed on the Institute website.
- No separate communication shall be sent to non-selected candidates.
7. Accommodation and Food
- The students selected for internship shall be provided hostel accommodation, if available, on payment basis. The application shall reach the office of the Chairperson, Warden Council, through the supervisor. The cost towards food and access to other amenities shall be paid by the interns.
8. Fellowship
- Supervisors may provide fellowships to interns, subject to the availability of funds from their projects.
9. During the Programme
- The interns shall be governed by the Institute rules and regulations during their stay in the Institute. They may be issued temporary identity cards by the respective School/Department and shall be allowed to access library, internet, and other facilities of the Institute.
The student registered for a degree in an Government funded Technical Institution and the students referred by various academies, desirous to carry out Internship or to avail laboratory/other academic facilities/short-term training at IIT Bhubaneswar in the fields related to the School of Basic Sciences, Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences, Electrical Sciences, Infrastructure, Mechanical Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management and Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering may apply for the Internship Programme.
Opening date for online application: 06th October, 2025
Last date for submission of online application: 06th November, 2025 11:00 PM
Tenure: Not below three weeks and not exceeding four weeks during Winter Vacations of IIT Bhubaneswar (Winter Vacation of the institute: 03.12.2025 to 31.12.2025).
Mode of carrying out the Internship: Through interaction with Faculty member in offline mode (to be decided by the Faculty member).

- Photograph: Recent Passport size photograph must be in JPG format with dimension of 200×260 px and size of less than 100kb.
- Signature: Must be in JPG format with dimension of 300×60 px and size of less than 100kb.
- Transcript: Must be in PDF format (size of less than 200kb).
- Resume: Must be in PDF format (size of less than 200kb).
- Bonafide Certificate: Must be in Prescribed format in PDF (size of less than 200kb).

- Mark/Grade sheets, certificates and documents starting from Matriculation onwards: Must be in PDF format with each size of less than 200kb.

Other Information:
- After selection, a hard copy of the application form along with the requisite documents signed by the student should be submitted at the time of joining the internship in the respective Schools of the Institute.
- The students selected for internship may be provided hostel accommodation, if available, on payment of appropriate fees. The application for accommodation (only after being selected for internship) should reach the Dean of Student Affairs through the faculty supervisor and the HOS for permission. The costs towards food and access to other amenities have to be paid by the student.
- On completion of the internship, the student has to submit a report of the work and a “Training Completion Certificate” will be issued to the student. No grades will be awarded by IIT Bhubaneswar for the work carried out under this ambit.
