The FAST-SF Program is an initiative by the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru, the Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, and The National Academy of Sciences, India, Prayagraj. Fellowship Overview
- Program Name: Focus Area Science Technology-Summer Fellowship [FAST-SF] Program — 2026
- Duration: Two months, any time during the calendar year (summer months preferred).
- Support: Selected candidates will receive a trip train fare and a monthly fellowship stipend to cover living expenses.
- Focus Area (Target Regions): The fellowship is specifically awarded to students and teachers studying/working in the North Eastern States of India, Andaman, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and Uttarakhand.

Students (Eligibility)
Applicants must be studying in their designated year of study (e.g., II year for BS/BSc, I year for MS/MSc, II or III years for BE/BTech/BCA, etc.).
- Eligible Courses: BS/BSc/BTech, ME/MTech, Integrated PhD (I, II years only), and other specific dual/integrated degrees (refer to official notification for specific year requirements).
- Academic Requirement: Minimum 65% average marks in core subjects (excluding languages) from Class X up to the last examination completed.
- Ineligible: PhD students are not eligible.
Teachers (Eligibility)
- Teachers working in the specifically mentioned focus areas/states only need apply. The minimum percentage of average marks does not apply for teachers. This is a vital program for those in research jobs in education.
