Job Overview
Applications are invited under the ongoing Punjab Agricultural University recruitment drive for the post of Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, PAU, Ludhiana. The Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, PAU Ludhiana, is seeking applications for one post of Senior Research Fellow under the project titled “Consortia for Research Platform (CRP) on Hybrid Technology for High Productivity in Selected Field and Horticultural Crops – Rice ICAR-52 (PC-2346)”. This position is suitable for a dedicated Senior Research Fellow aiming to further their expertise in agricultural research.
Educational Qualifications
- Essential:
- B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Biotechnology) with a minimum OCPA of 6.00/10.00 basis or 60% marks.
- M.Sc. in Plant Breeding / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Biotechnology (in crop plants) / Forestry with at least OCPA 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks.
- Desirable:
- Prior experience or research work in the relevant field will be preferred.
- Note:
- Candidates who do not possess a Master’s degree but hold a Ph.D. in the required discipline will be eligible for the post.
- Candidates with a Postgraduate degree in the mentioned subjects, but a three-year Bachelor’s degree, must have qualified for the NET and possess 2 years of experience. Ph.D. candidates are exempted from this condition.
Consolidated fellowship
- Rs. 31,000 + 16% HRA per month for the first two years
- Rs. 35,000 + 16% HRA per month from the third year onwards.
Tenure
- The appointment is initially for six months or until the scheme’s completion, whichever is earlier.
