Available Position: Project Associate-I (DST–SERB Funded Project)

Job Details:

  • Project Title: “Sensitizing of immune unresponsive colorectal cancers to checkpoint inhibitors through silencing of Acid Ceramidase expression”
  • Principal Investigator: Dr. K.B. Harikumar, BRIC-RGCB, Thiruvananthapuram
  • Funding Agency: DST–SERB
  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Emoluments: ₹31,000 + 16% HRA (with essential + desirable qualifications); ₹25,000 + 16% HRA (with essential qualifications only)
  • Duration: Initially 11 months or till project completion (extendable based on performance)
  • Age Limit: Below 32 years as on 20.11.2025 (relaxation as per Govt. norms)

Educational Requirements:

  • Essential Qualification:
    First Class Master’s Degree in any branch of life sciences with good academic records.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months of documented experience in mammalian cell culture, handling laboratory animals, and knowledge of pre-clinical cancer models.
  • Desirable Qualification: Qualified CSIR/UGC-NET/LS, GATE, DBT-BET, ICMR, or DST-Inspire Fellowship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on molecular mechanisms in colorectal cancer models.
  • Perform mammalian cell culture experiments and animal studies.
  • Assist in data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support the DST–SERB project.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in cell culture and laboratory animal handling.
  • Understanding of pre-clinical cancer models.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a research environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork capabilities.
