Job Details:
This JRF position under the DST-SERB project offers hands-on research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and protein biochemistry. An excellent opportunity for candidates seeking biotech jobs in infectious disease and host–pathogen interaction research.
- Project: “Deciphering the role of novel reticulocyte surface proteins in Plasmodium vivax”
- PI: Dr. Rajesh Chandramohanadas
- Location: Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
- Experience Required: Freshers with mandatory national eligibility qualification may apply. Prior research experience is preferred but not compulsory.
- Duration: Initial appointment for 11 months, extendable based on performance and project requirements
- Emolument: ₹ 37,000/- + 18% HRA per month
Age Limit:
- Below 26 years as on 30 November 2025
- Age relaxation as per Government of India norms
Educational Qualifications:
- First-class Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences or related fields.
- Mandatory qualification in CSIR-UGC NET, DBT-BET, GATE, or equivalent national-level examination.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies with experience in one or more of the following:
- Molecular biology
- Cell biology
- Protein biochemistry
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in:
- Cell culture
- Handling infectious agents
- Recombinant protein expression
- Prior research exposure will be an added advantage.
Skills Required:
- Good laboratory practice
- Analytical and documentation skills
- Ability to conduct independent experiments
- Strong motivation for research
