Job Description:
The QC Microbiologist will be responsible for conducting routine microbiological analysis, water testing, and environmental monitoring activities in the laboratory. This includes media preparation, instrument calibration, maintaining laboratory records, autoclave logbooks, and ensuring compliance with Good Microbiology Laboratory Practices. The role also involves monitoring temperature logs and maintaining accurate documentation as per SOP and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform incubator temperature monitoring and maintain cleaning records.
- Conduct Environmental Monitoring (EVM) in designated areas.
- Perform balance and pH meter calibration as per schedule.
- Carry out media preparation, sterilization, and media pouring.
- Monitor temperature logs of lab equipment and controlled areas.
- Conduct Microbial Limit Testing (MLT) of water samples.
- Maintain media preparation logbooks and usage records.
- Record autoclave cycles in vertical and double-door autoclave logbooks.
- Maintain records for media disposal and destruction.
- Ensure daily log entry updates and maintain regulatory documentation.
- Follow Good Microbiological Laboratory Practices (GMLP) and adhere to SOPs.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Microbiology QC / Water Testing / Pharma / Biotech Laboratory.
- Practical experience with media preparation, autoclave handling, and water testing.
- Clear understanding of SOP compliance and documentation.
- Ability to work in a regulated laboratory environment.
Qualifications:
B.Sc / M.Sc in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biology.
