Job Overview:
The Process Engineer – PAT will lead and support the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of PAT solutions across peptide, oligonucleotide, and small-molecule drug product manufacturing platforms, with a special focus on organic synthesis, crystallization, and formulation operations. The role bridges process science, advanced analytics, and digital control systems to enable real-time process understanding and predictive control
in alignment with Quality by Design (QbD), ICH Q8–Q14, and digital twin frameworks.Educational Requirements:
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/M.S. in Biotechnology
- Advanced certifications in QbD, Lean Six Sigma, or Data Analytics are a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and deploy PAT tools across R&D and manufacturing workflows
- Develop chemometric and calibration models (PLS, PCA, ANN) for real-time monitoring
- Collaborate with process scientists and automation teams for model-based control
- Use PAT data for DoE, multivariate analysis, and process optimization
- Support continuous manufacturing and process intensification initiatives
- Ensure regulatory compliance with ICH Q8–Q14, FDA/EMA PAT frameworks
- Manage lifecycle documentation, validation protocols, and SOPs
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including R&D, MSAT, QA/QC, and external vendors
Skills Required:
- Hands-on experience with inline/online/atline analytical techniques (Raman, NIR, FTIR, MS, FBRM, PVM, NMR)
- Familiarity with MVDA, digital twins, and process-control strategies
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, SIMCA, Unscrambler, JMP, or Seeq/SynTQ/SIPAT
- Knowledge of GMP validation, lifecycle management, and regulatory expectations
