About the PhD Programme 2025-26
The NIPER-Guwahati PhD Programme 2025-26 is designed to nurture innovation and excellence in pharmaceutical and life sciences research. This direct PhD admission offers students an opportunity to work with distinguished faculty and engage in advanced research across chemical, biological, analytical, and biotechnological sciences. The program emphasizes a multidisciplinary research environment, hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment, and collaborations with leading national and international institutions as well as the pharma and biotech industries. Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related fields.
- Minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.75/10 (55% for SC/ST).
- Valid fellowship from CSIR-UGC (JRF), DBT (JRF), ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, or equivalent programmes.
- Candidates awaiting final results may apply, provided eligibility is met at admission.
- GPAT/GATE are not valid fellowship schemes for this admission.
- Financial support will follow the rules of the respective funding agency and institute policy.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 28 years, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Persons with Disabilities, and women candidates as per government norms.
