The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous research institution under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. Recognised as one of India’s premier biomedical research centres, THSTI focuses on accelerating lab-to-clinic translation through interdisciplinary science, cutting-edge infrastructure, and global collaborations.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
Master Degree in Biological Sciences
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of UGC, CSIR, ICMR or DBT OR Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) of 3 years extendable for 2 more years for pursuing Ph.D

- Selection Method: Direct interview followed by merit-based shortlisting
Selection Procedure
- The shortlisted candidates will be called directly for the interview. The list of selected candidates will be published on the THSTI’s website.
- Selection will be made based on the applicant’s performance in the interview.
- No. of seats: 10 (UR: 4; OBC: 2; SC: 1; ST: 2; EWS: 1)
- Note: Candidates who have obtained a fellowship under OBC/SC/ST category must upload their scorecard while filling out the online application form.
General Terms & Conditions
- Candidates appearing in the final examination of their Master’s degree may apply. The result must be declared and the final mark sheet produced at the time of the Ph.D. interview.
- Reservation policy will be followed as per Government of India norms.
- The Ph.D. Program at THSTI is governed by JNU rules. For further details, visit www.jnu.ac.in.
- Selected students will undergo Ph.D. coursework for 2 semesters and must complete all requirements as per JNU rules.
- Fees payable to JNU will include admission, annual, and registration fees.
- Selected students have the option of shared hostel accommodation in lieu of their HRA.
