Project Overview:
Selected candidates will work on the Diabetic Retinopathy Microbiome Study – India (DRMS-India), a national project aimed at analyzing the relationship between gut microbiome composition and diabetic retinopathy progression using stool, blood, and metagenomic analysis.
Available Positions:
1. Project Associate-I (Wet Lab)
- No. of Positions: 1
Education:
- MSc in Life Science or related discipline
- Hands-on wet lab experience in molecular biological/microbiological experiments
- Age limit: 35 years
Desirable Qualifications:
- Biological sample handling
- Human/Microbial DNA/RNA isolation
- Cell culture, anaerobic microbial culture
- In vitro assays, molecular and cell biology techniques
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing & conducting experiments using clinical biospecimens
- Data organization, manuscript writing
- Coordination with participating centers
- SOP formulation, GLP documentation
- Stock management and purchase indenting
2. Project Associate-I (Dry Lab)
- No. of Positions: 1
Education:
- MSc in Life Science / Bioinformatics or related discipline
- Hands-on experience in genomic/metagenomic data analysis
- Age limit: 35 years
Desirable Qualifications:
- DNA sequence data analysis
- Experience with metagenomics pipelines, shotgun sequencing, 16S rRNA analysis
- Proficiency in Perl/Python, Linux, R
- Strong communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysis of DNA/RNA sequence data
- Statistical analysis and report preparation
- Development of analysis pipelines
- Coordination across centers
Skills Required for Project Associate Role :

Stipend:
- ₹31,000 + 27% HRA with NET/GATE
