About the Project:
Project Title: Deciphering the role of Hsp110 molecular chaperone in cell division arrest and septin ring dynamics during endoplasmic reticulum stress.
This CSIR-funded life science research project aims to explore the modulatory role of Hsp110 molecular chaperone during Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress using Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast) as a model organism. The research focuses on understanding how cellular stress influences protein folding and division processes, contributing to broader insights in molecular and cellular biology. The project will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Koyeli Mapa, Associate Professor, Department of Life Sciences, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (SNIoE).

Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences with at least 55% marks from a recognized university.
- Must be GATE/NET qualified (attach scorecard).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting yeast genetic and molecular biology experiments.
- Performing protein expression, purification, and related biochemical assays.
- Operating and maintaining lab instruments; assisting in microscopy studies.
- Collaborating with other research institutions for specific experiments as needed.
- Assisting in training undergraduate students and maintaining lab records.
Desirable Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in molecular biology, protein purification, or yeast handling as a model organism.
Fellowship:
Rs. 37,000 per month
Duration:
1 year (purely temporary), extendable based on performance.
Age Limit:
28 years (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates).
