1. Project Technical Support-III (One Position)
Project Title: ICMR Project: “Quantifying the risk
of zoonotic diseases at wildlife-livestock human interface using One Health Approach”Project Investigator (PI): Dr. Md. Mudassar Chanda, Senior Scientist]
Qualifications:
Three years graduate in relevant subject field + Three years experience or PG in relevant subject/field (Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Agriculture)
Experience Required:
- Experience in molecular techniques such as PCR, Real-time PCR etc.
- Experience in performing ELISA
- Field experience in collection of ticks and other vectors of medical and veterinary importance
- Experience in taxonomy of vectors of medical and veterinary importance
Remuneration: Rs.28,000/- per month + 30% HRA
Age Limit: 35 Years
2. Project Consultant (One Position)
Project Title: NCDC Project: “National One Health Programme & Control of Zoonoses”
PI: Dr. V.Balamurugan, Principal Scientist
Qualifications:
Professionals having Master’s degree in veterinary Microbiology / Biochemistry or its equivalent master’s degree in M.V.Sc / MD or MBBS qualifications in the relevant Subject with R&D experience and published papers
OR
Ph.D. in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Science OR Master’s degree in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Science with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience
Research and Laboratory Skills:
- Laboratory experience in handling microbial cultures / zoonotic pathogens
- Knowledge in molecular techniques, PCR and serological techniques, etc., for the diagnosis of zoonoses
- Organising training/meetings/workshops and conducting outreach programme.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
Job Description:
- Handling zoonotic pathogens (culture, isolation)/ samples.
- Performing diagnostics/ surveillance and field survey outbreak investigations
- Data management and analysis
- Conducting and coordinating training and project-related communication
- Preparation of IEC/training/workshop material
- Field visit to different states under the project
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in handling zoonotic pathogens (Leptospira, JE, etc.)
- Experience in ELISA, PCR, Microscopic Agglutination Test (MAT), Field on-site test, etc.
- Organising training / meeting / workshop, preparing IEC, and conducting outreach programme.
- Disease mapping (GIS mapping).
Remuneration: Rs. 70,000/- consolidated per month

3. Senior Research Fellow (One Position)
Project Title: “DBT-BBSRC Project: Understanding and Controlling Lumpy Skin Disease in Indian Cattle”
PI: Dr. Baldev Raj Gulati, Project Investigator
Qualifications:
Master degree in Microbiology / Virology / Biotechnology / Life Science with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s Degree.
OR Master’s degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics / Life Science with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications
Required Skills:
- Virological, Immunological and Molecular techniques such as handling of biosafety/risk pathogens, immuneassays, genomics etc.
- Vector collection and identification including processing for detection of pathogens.
- Data management, mapping, disease modelling, risk analysis etc.
Remuneration: Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA for 1st and 2nd year & Rs. 42,000/- per month + HRA for 3rd year
Age Limit: 35 Years for Men and 40 Years for Women
Note: Initially, the tenure will be up to the duration of the project or 31.03.2026, whichever is earlier. This will be extendable based on satisfactory performance and fund availability and continuity of the project.

How to Apply?
- The desirous and eligible candidates fulfilling criteria must bring duly filled application form, original certificates along with one set self-attested copies of certificates / documents for verification at the time of interview.
- All the eligible candidates attending interview should be present at the Institute campus sharply by 9 AM on the date of interview.
Terms and Conditions:
- Any Changes with regard to selection/schedule of interview will be notified at the Institute’s website only.
- For ICMR Projects, the age relaxation up to 5 years may be granted to deserving candidates having experience of working in Government Research Organization on a case-to-case basis. However, the contract for engagement of project staff shall be up to one year, which shall be extendable up to three-years, subject to requirement and performance review.
- Candidates without original certificates/documents will not be allowed to attend the interview.
- Applications not in prescribed proforma, incomplete are liable to be rejected.
- The candidate should hold Degree certificate on the date of interview (at least Provisional Certificate), if applicable in original in respect of Graduation, Post-Graduation, Ph.D. (website results/awaiting for results candidates will not be allowed/considered).
- The above positions are purely on temporary basis.
- There is no provision for absorption/re-employment after termination of the contract. The service of person, who are engaged, will automatically stand terminated with the termination of the contract. However, selected candidate may be discontinued owing to administrative reasons at any time. The selected candidate may also leave the assignment on their own, by giving one-month notice.
- Crucial date for determining the age limit will be the date of interview.
- The Income Tax or any other tax liable to be deducted as per the prevailing rules will be deducted at source before effecting payment of monthly salary.
- No TA, DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- The notified vacancies may increase or decrease as per the requirement of the Institute /Project.
- The Director, ICAR-NIVEDI reserves the right to fill up all the posts or any of them without assigning any reason thereof.
- The decision of the Director, ICAR-NIVEDI is final and binding in all aspects.
