Job Overview:
The Research Assistant will perform necropsy of laboratory animals, tissue trimming, processing, clinical pathology support, and documentation under GLP and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include blood collection, anesthesia, euthanasia, husbandry practices, sample preparation, and supporting necropsy activities with precision and compliance.
Educational Requirements:
- B.Sc. Zoology
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform euthanasia and necropsy of study animals
- Collect, weigh, verify, and preserve organs
- Prepare reagents, fixatives, and staining solutions
- Trim, process, embed, section, stain, mount, and label tissues and slides
- Maintain chemical stock register
- Archive pathology specimens (tissue bottles, paraffin blocks, slides)
- Document data per regulatory requirements
- Analyze clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urine parameters
- Prepare anticoagulants, vials, plasma & serum samples, blood smears
- Conduct routine animal husbandry and documentation
- Maintain consumables for daily laboratory activities
Skills Required:
- Hands-on necropsy and histology experience
- Knowledge of clinical pathology workflows
- Understanding of GLP, compliance, and data integrity
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to follow EHSS guidelines diligently
