Job Overview:

As part of the Discovery Services Division, the Histotechnician Job at Syngene involves performing necropsy, histopathology, and clinical pathology support activities in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). You’ll contribute to laboratory operations, animal handling, sample preparation, and quality documentation, supporting studies essential for research and drug discovery.

Educational Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Zoology or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
  • 0–3 years of experience in research, clinical, or laboratory environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform euthanasia, necropsy, and organ collection of study animals.
  • Prepare reagents, fixatives, and stains used in histopathology.
  • Conduct tissue trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning, and slide staining.
  • Support clinical chemistry and hematology testing using automated analyzers.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with GLP and internal quality standards.
  • Archive pathology specimens and maintain laboratory inventory.
  • Follow EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability) protocols.

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of histopathology and necropsy techniques.
  • Good documentation and data integrity practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in research teams.
