Available Positions:
Project Scientist-II (PSII)
- Project: Expansion of INSACOG-Wastewater Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2, Emerging Pathogens, and Antimicrobial Resistance through Genomics-Based Methods
- Desired Qualification: Doctoral degree in science or master’s degree in engineering or technology from a recognized university or equivalent with three years’ experience in R&D
- No. of Posts: 01
- Fellowship: ₹ 67,000 + HRA
- Age Limit: 40
Project Associate-II (PAII)
- Project: Environmental Surveillance as a Key Public Health Strategy in India
- Desired Qualification: Master’s degree in Natural/Agricultural Sciences or MVSc Technology; or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine with two years’ R&D experience
- No. of Posts: 01
- Fellowship: ₹ 35,000 + HRA (for those qualifying under special criteria) or ₹ 25,000 + HRA for others
- Age Limit: 35
Lab Technician
- Project: Screening of Genetic Disorders in Women and Children in Aspirational District of Gujarat (Under UMMID initiative)
- Desired Qualification: B.Sc./3 years Diploma in Engineering & Technology
- No. of Posts: 02
- Fellowship: ₹ 20,000 + HRA
- Age Limit: 50
Educational Requirements:
- B.Sc. / Diploma for Laboratory Technician
- M.Sc. / PG degree for Research Assistant–level roles
- Special preference to candidates with NGS, genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or surveillance research experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting laboratory workflows in genomics and diagnostic research
- Sample processing, wet-lab support, and documentation
- Assisting in genome sequencing, data management, and QC
- Supporting public health surveillance and research activities
- Maintaining laboratory inventory and instruments
Skills Required:
- Practical laboratory handling skills
- Knowledge of molecular biology or biotechnology workflows
- Ability to support research teams in routine lab work
- Understanding of biosafety procedures
- Data recording and quality monitoring skills
