About the Role
4BaseCare is looking for a dedicated Histopathology & Biobank Intern to support day-to-day operations in the Histopathology and Biobank units. The role involves handling, organizing, and archiving tissue blocks and slides, supporting sample retrieval for patient requests, and assisting other departments such as the NGS lab when needed. All required training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• File, sort, and organize histopathology slides and tissue blocks daily.
• Assist in cataloging and maintaining archival repositories from previous years.
• Retrieve and dispatch blocks/slides for patient reports or external partner requests.
• Support departmental or institutional projects as assigned.
• Assist other lab departments, including NGS, during high workload periods.
• Maintain documentation, logs, and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory safety and operational protocols.
• Must be available to work on Saturdays.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.).
• Experience in a diagnostic or histopathology lab is an added advantage.
Skills Required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle delicate materials safely.
• Good organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow protocols accurately and consistently.
• Willingness to learn and work across multiple departments.
