Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, specializing in Plant Pathology, Entomology, or Crop Protection.
- Desirable: Experience managing research farms with excellent people management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor research farm operations on identified land parcels.
- Identify and control biotic stresses such as diseases and pests in bio-energy crops.
- Conduct R&D trials to screen bio-energy crops for disease tolerance.
- Collaborate with crop breeders, agronomists, and national/international experts for innovation in crop protection.
- Develop and implement Integrated Pest and Disease Management strategies.
- Maintain demonstration plots and ensure disease-free yields across R&D locations.
- Lead crisis management at the field level and resolve farmer-related issues efficiently.
- Implement digital MIS systems for farm management and data tracking.
- Develop robust systems and procedures for R&D data recording and analysis.
Experience Required:
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in pest and disease identification and implementing effective crop protection strategies.
- In-depth understanding of pest life cycles, disease symptoms, and management methods.
- Familiarity with chemical, biological, and organic crop protection techniques preferred.
Desired Skills:
- Expertise in Plant Pathology, Integrated Crop Management, Plant Protection, Crop Disease Diagnosis, Data Analysis, and Field Research.
- Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across R&D teams and external partnerships.
