Scientist Job Overview:
This is a hands-on, non-supervisory position in USP-India’s Biologics laboratory. The candidates getting hired for the scientist job will be responsible for performing bioassays, binding assays, and functional characterization assays for various biologics product classes. MSc Biochemistry Jobs have duties that would include method development and validation for development of standards, collaborative testing of reference standards, and supporting activities related to India Biologics laboratory.
Educational Requirements:
- MSc in Biochemistry or related Biological Sciences
- 3-6 years of industrial experience in biopharmaceutical product development and quality testing
- Expertise in relative potency assays, mAb functional assays, flow cytometry, and primary cell culture
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Key Responsibilities of this Scientist Job:
- Perform bioassays and binding assays for biologics, including recombinant proteins, mAbs, vaccines, and CGT products
- Conduct functional characterization and viral assays
- Execute method development, qualification, and validation for standards
- Collaborate on reference standards testing and biologics characterization projects
- Analyze and interpret data using statistical software for relative potency determination
- Support lab management, training, and internal/external audits
- Keep updated on scientific developments and propose protocol improvements
- Participate in scientific seminars and conferences
Skills Required:
- Proficient in in vitro cell-based relative potency assays
- Skilled in handling cell lines and primary cells
- Experienced in functional activity and immunogenicity assays, method qualification, protocol, and report writing
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of reference materials development is a plus
