Position Details:

Area-I: Botanical Garden, Plant Conservation and Agrotechnologies

  • Position 1: Project Associate-II (PAT-II)
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Botany / Biochemistry / Life Sciences OR M.Sc. Agriculture with 2 years R&D experience
  • Desirable Qualification: M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture / Entomology / Apiculture OR M.Sc. Zoology. Experience in Entomology / Beekeeping / Apiculture highly preferred
  • Age Limit: 35 Years
  • Project Name: CSIR Floriculture Mission Phase-II (HCP-0037)
  • Number of Positions: 01
  • Stipend Details: ₹35,000 + HRA per month for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship), GATE, or any national-level examination conducted by central government departments such as DBT/DST or equivalent institutions.
    ₹28,000 + HRA per month for other candidates who do not fall under the above category.
  • Position 2: Project Associate-I (PAT-I)
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Botany / Biochemistry / Life Sciences OR M.Sc. Agriculture
  • Desirable Qualification: Experience in Plant Science research preferred
  • Age Limit: 35 Years
  • Project Name: CSIR Floriculture Mission Phase-II (HCP-0037)
  • Number of Positions: 01
  • Stipend Details: ₹31,000 + HRA for NET or equivalent exams qualified / ₹25,000 + HRA for others
  • Position 3: Young Professional-ICSIR Floriculture Mission Phase-II / DUS Test Centre
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Agriculture / Horticulture / Biological Sciences
  • Desirable Qualification: Proficiency in plant morphology, sampling, recording biometric data, and computer-based data analysis
  • Age Limit: 35 Years
  • Project Name: Establishment of a DUS Test Centre at CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow for Bougainvillea, Canna and Gladiolus crops. (GAP-2239)
  • Number of Positions: 01
  • Stipend Details: ₹30,000 PM consolidated

Area-II: Ecology & Environmental Science Division

  • Position 3: Junior Research Assistant-ITo study the role of phosphate, aquaporin, and NRAMP transporters on arsenic accumulation in Kalanamak rice (GAP-3529)
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Botany / Plant Science / Environmental Science / Chemistry / Applied Chemistry. Candidate must have 1st division in both Graduate and Postgraduate levels.
  • Desirable Qualification: Preference to candidates with at least 1 year research experience in the relevant area and basic computer skills.
  • Age Limit: 28 years (as on 01.04.2025)

Area-III: Plant Diversity, Systematics, and Herbarium

  • Position: Project Associate-I
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Botany, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or Plant Science.
  • Desirable Qualification: Experience in studying lichens, algae, and analyzing DNA sequence data for taxonomy.
  • Age Limit: 35 Years
  • Project Name: Photobiont diversity in lichens occurring in varied ecological conditions in India (GAP-3534)
  • Number of Positions: 01
  • Stipend Details: ₹31,000/- + HRA per month for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship), GATE, or any national-level examination conducted by central government departments such as DBT/DST or equivalent institutions.
    ₹25,000/- + HRA per month for other candidates who do not fall under the above category.

Terms & Conditions:

  1. HRA: Will be admissible as per the project sanction.

  2. Application Form: Available at the venue on the interview date. Candidates may also download it in advance from www.nbri.res.in.

  3. Documents Required: Candidates must bring one latest photograph, original documents, and self-attested copies of all certificates (from matriculation onwards), proof of date of birth, and experience certificates. Tentative mark sheets, provisional certificates, or “result awaited” cases will not be considered.

  4. Reporting Time: Candidates should reach the venue one hour before the scheduled interview for document verification.

  5. Mode of Selection:

    • Selection will be based on an interview.

    • If the number of candidates is large, a screening test with multiple-choice questions may be conducted.

    • Shortlisted candidates will appear before the selection committee, and a merit panel will be created based on interview performance.

    • Interaction can be held in Hindi or English.

    • If the number of candidates is high, interviews may continue the next day.

  6. Project Tenure: Appointment is co-terminus with the project and subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. The total tenure of project staff in CSIR projects should not exceed 6 years, extendable to 7 years only in case of short-term (≤12 months) projects funded by PSUs, industries, start-ups, or entrepreneurs.

  7. Grade Conversion: Candidates with CGPA/SGPA/OGPA should convert it into a percentage as per their institute’s formula.

  8. Age Relaxation:

    • SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 5 years

    • OBC: 3 years

  9. Experience Counting: Work experience will be counted only after obtaining the minimum required qualification.

  10. Interview Duration: In case of a large number of candidates, interviews may continue till late evening or the next day. Candidates should plan their travel accordingly.

  11. Vacancy Variation: The number of positions may vary at the time of selection.

  12. Authority Rights: The Director, CSIR-NBRI, reserves the right to modify, cancel, or withdraw the recruitment process without prior notice.

  13. Disqualification: Canvassing or bringing any political/influential pressure will lead to disqualification.

  14. Eligibility Check: If found ineligible at any stage, even after engagement, the candidate’s appointment will be terminated immediately.

  15. Eligibility Reminder: Only candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria with valid mark sheets/degrees should attend the walk-in interview.

  16. Queries & Allowances:

  • No interim queries will be entertained.

  • No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
