The selected candidate will join the research project titled: “National Network Project of University of Kalyani and IISER, Kolkata”, funded by the
Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The role involves advanced computational biology work, including MD simulations using CHARMM36 all-atom force fields with GROMACS, post-MD trajectory analysis, and structural studies of peptides and proteins.Position Details
- Position: Project Scientist I
- Tenure: 3 months (extendable based on project terms and performance)
- Remuneration: ₹56,000 + 24% HRA = ₹69,440 (consolidated)
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biosciences, Bioengineering, Biophysics, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biophysics, Biophysical Chemistry, Structural Biology, Theoretical Physics, Physical Chemistry, or related areas from any UGC-recognized university
Desirable Qualifications:
- Expertise in MD simulations using CHARMM36 all-atom force fields in GROMACS, which is crucial for project scientist recruitment.
- In-depth knowledge of post-MD simulation trajectory analysis
- Strong understanding of peptide and protein conformations
- Experience in force-field development for unnatural amino acids
