  • Project Title: Performance Evaluation of SUSBIO ECOTREAT Advanced Prefabricated Sewage Treatment Plant and IoT System
  • Principal Investigator: Prof. Halan Prakash
  • Research Area: Water Analysis and Treatment, Environmental Chemistry, Chemistry
  • Duration: 1 year (evaluation after 6 months)
  • Fellowship: ₹30,000/month + 16% HRA (if hostel not availed)
  • Accommodation: Hostel accommodation available as per institute rules and availability

Educational Requirements for the Project Associate Role:

  • Postgraduate in Basic Sciences: Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, Geochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology
  • OR Graduate/Postgraduate in Professional Courses: Chemical Engineering, Environmental Technology, Biotechnology
  • Selection via National Eligibility Tests (CSIR–UGC NET including lectureship, GATE) or national-level exams conducted by DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER

Key Responsibilities for the Project Associate Role:

  • Install and evaluate a 5 KLD SUSBIO ECOTREAT STP at BITS Pilani, Goa
  • Monitor water quality using conventional and IoT-enabled sensor methods
  • Assess energy consumption and by-product generation of tertiary treatment processes
  • Document and analyze results to determine treated water suitability for various applications under CPCB and regulatory norms

Skills Required for the Project Associate Role:

  • Knowledge of environmental chemistry and water treatment processes
  • Familiarity with IoT-enabled monitoring systems (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Research-oriented with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
