PhD Admission at CSIR-CCMB – Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification
- Master’s Degree in Science with minimum 55% marks (UR/EWS) or 50% (OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender) OR
- 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 75% marks (UR/EWS) or 70% (OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender)
Fellowship Requirement
- A valid National-level fellowship such as JRF/SRF of CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST, ICMR, or equivalent fellowships (DBT-BET, INSPIRE, RGNF, etc.).
- For LaCONES-only applicants: Valid JRF fellowship or GATE Ecology & Evolution qualification.
Note: A fellowship valid at the time of joining (January 2026) is mandatory for this PhD Admission at CSIR-CCMB.
Selection Process
- Online Application Deadline: 21 October 2025
- Written Test / Remote Proctored Test: 26 October 2025
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for in-person interviews at CCMB, Hyderabad, in the last week of November or the first week of December 2025.
- “LaCONES-only” candidates will be screened based on an interview and a statement of purpose (no written test).
- Final selection requires a valid fellowship confirmation.

- Travel and accommodation expenses for the test/interview are to be borne by the candidates.
