Walk-in/Online Interview for the temporary Position of Project Associate-1(01), Research Associate-I(02) and Junior Research Fellow(02).
BRIC-NABI is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. BRIC-NABI aims at catalysing the transformation of the Agri-food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security. Since its inception in 2010, BRIC-NABI is involved in research activities for Bio-fortification, the development of designer crops for improved nutrition, providing sustainable and novel solutions for quality food and nutrition, and the development of evidence-based functional foods to counter malnutrition. The food and nutritional Biotechnology division at BRIC-NABI requires the following research personnel purely on a temporary basis.
Post I
1. Project Title: “Developing abiotic stress tolerant high-yielding ‘STuRDY’ rice in mega-variety Swarna through genome editing.” (GAP-92)
Principal Investigator: Prof. Ashwani Pareek, Executive Director, BRIC-NABI
Positions: Project Associate I (One position)
Duration: Three years (subject to evaluation at end of each year)
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Agriculture/ Plant Molecular Biology or allied sciences from a recognized University or equivalent
Desirable Experience: General plant molecular biology and plant tissue culture-related techniques, plant transformation
Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- per month plus HRA (Emoluments and eligibility as per DST OM SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10th July, 2020)
Age limit: 35 Years (Relaxation admissible for SC/ST/OBC/PD as per GOI Instruction)

2. Project Title: “Lignin valorization via biomaterial development, depolymerization and green technology.” (GAP-27 CIAB)
Principal Investigator: Dr. Jayeeta Bhaumik, Scientist-E, BRIC-NABI
Positions: Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate I (One position)
Duration: One Year, extendable on annual basis for subsequent years subject to satisfactory progress, institutional needs, and financial provisions. Duration of Project 3 years (2024-2027)
Essential Qualification: Master’s degree from a recognized University/Institute: M.Sc. Chemistry (Organic/Physical/ Materials/ Medicinal/Pharmaceutical)/ Biotechnology/ Nanotechnology/ Microbiology /Food Technology or related field, or M. Pharm / M.S. Pharm (Biotechnology/Medicinal/Pharmaceutical/Process Chemistry), or M.E. / M. Tech. (Biotechnology/Nanotechnology) and NET / GATE / any other relevant/equivalent national level test qualified (for JRF)
Work area: Lignin valorization via biomaterial development
Desired Experience: Agro waste / Biomass valorization, Process development of biomaterial
Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- per month (for JRF) with National Eligibility Tests, or Rs. 30,000/- per month (for PA I) without national exams qualified plus HRA or hostel facility if available
Age limit: 28 years

Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences (Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Electrochemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry)/ Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Biochemistry/ Biotechnology from a recognized University / Institute and at least one SCI publication. Candidates who have submitted the PhD thesis are encouraged to apply. Paid as Senior Research Fellow until thesis defense
Desired Experience: Agro waste / Biomass valorization, Process development of biomaterial
Emoluments: Rs. 58,000/- per month + HRA (as admissible)

Essential Qualification: (i) Master’s degree from a recognized University/Institute: M.Sc. (Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Electrochemistry/ Material Chemistry/ Medicinal Chemistry) /Biochemistry/ Nanotechnology/ Nanoscience or M.E. / M. Tech. (Chemical Engineering/Nanotechnology) or relevant discipline, and (ii) NET / GATE / any other national level test qualified
Desired Experience: Catalyst synthesis, chemical catalysis
Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA (as admissible or hostel facility)
Age limit: 28 Years
