Job Title: Technician – Molecular Biology
Location: Sutar Hospital, Kothrud, Pune

At Sutar Hospital (Kothrud), through the Krsnaa Diagnostics network, we are committed to delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality molecular biology testing to support patient care and clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform DNA and RNA extraction from clinical samples as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Set up and execute qualitative PCR assays for molecular detection.
- Conduct quantitative PCR (qPCR) assays, including viral load testing for HIV, HBV, and HCV.
- Operate and maintain molecular instruments such as thermal cyclers and real-time PCR machines.
- Maintain accurate documentation, data recording, and ensure QC/QA compliance.
- Participate in method validation, instrument calibration, and reagent preparation.
- Adhere to biosafety, contamination control, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Coordinate with laboratory teams to ensure timely and quality-driven molecular testing.
Educational Qualification
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Biotechnology or Microbiology (mandatory)
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or equivalent – added advantage
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience in:
o DNA/RNA extraction
o Qualitative PCR
o Quantitative PCR (Viral Load assays for HIV, HBV, HCV) - Strong understanding of molecular biology principles and qPCR data interpretation.
- Familiarity with PCR instrumentation software, reagent handling, and contamination control practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Desirable Attributes
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or diagnostic molecular biology laboratory (mandatory).
- Exposure to NABL/ISO 15189 accredited laboratory systems.
- Certification in molecular diagnostics or related field preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot PCR reactions and optimize assay performance.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under strict turnaround times.
