About the Project
Preterm birth continues to be a major global health issue and the leading cause of neonatal mortality. India contributes nearly one-fourth of all preterm births globally. The project aims to develop mass spectrometry-based protein quantification methods for key proteins implicated in pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia and preterm birth.
The selected candidate will play a vital role in protein expression, purification, and structural analysis, helping unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions — a crucial step toward early prediction and prevention.
Position Overview
- Position: Project Scientist-II
- Project Title: MOMI Scale Up Nutritional and Multi-Omics Analysis (Phase III)
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Tushar Kanti Maiti, Professor
- Number of Positions: 01 (One)
- Tenure: Initially six months; extendable based on performance evaluation every six months till project completion
- Emoluments: ₹67,000/- + 30% HRA (Total ₹87,100 per month)
- Age Limit: 40 years as on 31st October 2025
