Project Overview
The selected junior research fellow will work in the Laboratory of Dr. Tessy Thomas Maliekal on a DBT-funded project aimed at understanding the genetic and epigenetic factors driving oral cancer in women with chewing tobacco habits. The project involves advanced techniques in molecular biology, including mammalian cell culture, FACS, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, PCR, and molecular cloning.
Eligibility Criteria For Junior Research Fellow Vacancy
- Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Postgraduate degree in a professional course through
any of the following:
- National Eligibility Tests: CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE.
- National-level exams conducted by central government departments and agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
- Desirable Qualification: Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, FACS, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, PCR, and molecular cloning.
- Age Limit: Below 28 years as of 14th November 2025 (relaxation as per Government of India norms).
Stipend and Duration
- Emolument: ₹37,000 + 18% HRA per month.
- Tenure: Up to 16th September 2028 or till project termination, extendable based on performance.
