Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct experimental research on mitochondrial disorders under the supervision of the PI.
  • Perform molecular and cellular assays to support project objectives.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and data analysis.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports, publications, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with team members across multiple laboratories within KMC, Manipal.

  • Duration: Until the end of the grant period (2028), subject to satisfactory performance
  • Eligibility Criteria
  • Educational Qualifications:
    • M.Sc/M.Tech. or B.Tech (4 years) in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
    • Candidates who are GATE or NET qualified will be given preference.
  • Desirable Skills:
    • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, transfection, Western blotting, qPCR, and cloning.
    • Experience in BSL2 and ABSL2 facilities.
    • Familiarity with MS Office, Excel, GraphPad Prism, and preferably Python or R.
    • Strong scientific writing skills and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Experience in project reporting (UC/SOE preparation) will be an advantage.
  • Remuneration
    • Rs. 37,000 + 8% HRA per month (as per ICMR norms).

Additional Information

  • Duration: Up to 2028, co-terminus with the project.
  • Outstanding candidates may be considered for absorption into the MAHE Ph.D. program based on performance.
  • Ability to drive a two-wheeler will be beneficial for local commute within the campus (approx. 3 km).
  • No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
