Project Overview
The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research involving Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), RNA-Seq analyses, and genomic datasets. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a career in bioinformatics, including sequence analysis, phylogenomics, and population genomics, along with potential exposure to wet-lab techniques and fieldwork with birds.
Position Details:
- Number of Positions: 1 Research Fellow (JRF)
- Duration: 6 months, extendable based on project funding
- Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or B.Tech in Bioinformatics or related fields
- Qualification in national-level exams such as CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, JAM, or equivalent
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in handling and analyzing WGS, RNA-Seq, and related genomic datasets
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R, Unix)
- Experience with wet-lab NGS methods (DNA/RNA extraction, library preparation) is a plus, but not mandatory
- Field experience with birds is advantageous
