Applications are invited for the post of Project Research Scientist – I (Non-medical) for an Indian Council of
Medical Research funded project entitled “Resuscitation with umbilical cord intact in term and late preterm neonates (RECORD-IN trial)” under Dr Venkataseshan Sundaram, Professor, Department of Pediatrics, PGIMER, Chandigarh.How to Apply:
The post is purely on a contractual basis and will be extendable periodically until the project finishes. Interested candidates may submit the filled form (template attached) along with a copy of 2-page biodata to the NICU office (Mr. Surinder Yadav – 0172-2755341/0172-2755318) by 11:00 am on Wednesday, 12th November 2025.
NICU office location: Room no. 1, Level 3 (above gastro ward), F block, Nehru Hospital, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
The application form should also have a photograph of the candidate applicant, age proof of the applicant (tenth or twelfth standard certificate), education qualification certificate (self-attested copy), experience certificate (self-attested copy) and a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the previous employer. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
Biodata must include email address and functioning mobile contact number. Candidates will be informed by email whether they are eligible for the interview. No other modes of communication will be maintained.
Interview date and time and venue will be intimated through email. Kindly check your email regularly (including spam folder) for the information. Applicants should ensure their availability for immediate appointment, with joining required no later than 20th November, 2025.
In case the number of candidates is more than 20, an objective written test will tentatively be held at 10.00 am on Monday, 17th November 2025. The location of the written test shall be intimated through email.
Selection in-person interview of the short-listed candidates will be taking place tentatively at 12:00 pm on 17th November 2025. Final date and time will be intimated through email to the short-listed candidates.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the test or the interview.

Job profile
The Project Research Scientist I (NM) will be responsible for:

Providing support to research nurses in recruitment of study subjects and data collection
-
Ensuring data accuracy and completion
-
Entering data into database, manage and maintain effective record keeping data
-
Providing support to project office operations performing a variety of standard administrative duties including typing of official documents ensuring high quality and accuracy of work
-
Keeping track of project with updated reports
-
Responsible for organizing files, collecting and managing data to be entered into the computer
-
Any additional work related to the research project including work of other research staff, as needed
Essential qualifications and experience
First Class Post Graduate degree from a recognized university in subjects listed below
OR
Second Class Post Graduate with a Ph.D. degree from a recognized university in subjects listed below

Postgraduate diploma or degree in clinical trial management

Excellent reading comprehension and strong written as well as verbal communication skills, including good command of English is required

Good understanding of needs for project and job responsibilities

Computer skills including proficiency in entering data and in use of Microsoft Office applications

Good organizational behavior and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and investigators.
