The Central Silk Board (CSB), under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, has announced Govt Life Science Job Vacancies – JRF Post at CSB-CSRTI. A walk-in interview will be conducted for the engagement of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
A walk-in interview will be conducted for the engagement of the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the project “SIT02032SIC – Characterization of mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori L. mutants for tolerance to flacherie syndrome through genome editing tools (Phase –II)” at CSB-Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Berhampore, West Bengal, India. The interview is scheduled for 28.10.2025. The selection will be based on the qualifications and performance during the interview process. Please ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria before attending the interview.

Qualification
Essential qualifications: Master’s Degree (M.Sc. in Agriculture/Sericulture/Life Sciences/ Zoology/Botany/Genetics from a UGC-recognized University with 60% marks for general candidates and 55% for SC/ST candidates.
Desirable qualifications:
PG Diploma in Sericulture.
Preference:
Candidates having working experience in Mulberry Sericulture and molecular biology
Salary/Emoluments:
Rs. 21000/- consolidated pay for the candidates and applicable HRA

Time period:
August 2025 to July 2027
Age limit:
Maximum of 35 years as on the date of notification.
Age relaxation:
It is applicable for a maximum period of 5 years for the SC/ST/OBC, Women, and physically challenged candidates as per the rules.

Interested candidates may appear for the walk-in interview to be held at CSB-Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Berhampore, West Bengal-742 101, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India on 28.10.2025 (Landmark: Backside of Berhampore court railway station).

Candidates should produce original documents for the verification along with one set of self-attested photocopies of all the certificates and biodata.

Time: 10.00 AM onwards (candidates should reach the venue by 9.30 AM for verification of documents) and entry will be permitted up to 12 PM only.

Upper Age Limit: 35 years as on the date of notification. Relaxation of five (5) years for SC/ST, women, physically handicapped, and OBC candidates as per rules.

No TA/DA will be provided to attend the interview.

The abovementioned position is purely temporary on a contractual basis and co-terminus with the project. Further claims will not be entertained thereafter.
