Primary Purpose of this Ecologist Job:

Stantec seeks an Ecologist to join their Pune, India office. The role supports projects in global infrastructure, water resources, buildings, mining, oil, and gas sectors by providing ecological assessments, data analysis, and reporting.

Educational Requirements for this Environmental Science Job:

  • Master’s in Environmental Science preferred OR
  • Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering or Ecological disciplines (Zoology/Botany)

Key Responsibilities for the Ecologist Job:

  • In this Environmental Science Job, you should conduct desk-based data gathering for baseline ecological reporting using public and paid sources.
  • Prepare desk-based reports and interpret ecological/biological data in accordance with CIEEM guidelines for Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA).
  • This Ecologist Job is to support additional impact assessments including Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRA) and Water Framework Assessments (WFD).
  • Perform GIS mapping and present ecological data in support of reports.
  • Participate in weekly ecology meetings to understand projects and provide support.

Person Specifications for this Ecologist Job:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with GIS and data management software; geotechnical or hydrogeological experience an advantage.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; commitment to safe work practices.
