The Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (BRIC-inStem), Bangalore, an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has invited applications for the position of Project Associate-I. Essential Qualification:
MSc or equivalent in any branch of Life Sciences with experience in CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering, cell and molecular biology.
Optional Qualification:
Previous experience with stem cell culture is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates who have qualified CSIR/UGC, ICMR, DBT/GATE-XL/Biotechnology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct research using cell biology techniques, including culturing stem cells and routine cell lines.
- Plan experiments, maintain stocks, order reagents, and adhere to protocols.
- Perform CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering, cloning, nucleic acid isolation, protein complex purification, IP/MS, and Western blotting.
- Analyze data, conduct literature surveys, provide project updates, and present findings.
- Participate in project team meetings and contribute intellectually to research.
Tenure & Salary:
- Contractual appointment: 11 months, renewable based on progress and grant requirements.
- Salary: ₹37,000 + HRA (NET-qualified) / ₹30,000 + HRA (Non-NET-qualified).
