Job Description
Upstream Bioprocessing
Job Responsibilities
- Perform cell culture and fermentation using microbial or mammalian systems within an upstream job role.
- Develop and optimize upstream processes to ensure high product yield and quality, collaborating with the upstream and downstream teams.
- Operate and monitor bioreactors while controlling key parameters (pH, DO, temperature).
- Conduct harvest and clarification steps for preparing materials for purification.
- Conduct small-scale experiments to support process development and technology transfer.
- Ensure strict documentation and compliance with GMP and regulatory standards during both upstream and downstream tasks.
Qualifications (Upstream):
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in Upstream, cell culture, and fermentation.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, media prep, and monitoring tools.
Downstream Bioprocessing
Job Responsibilities
- Execute purification processes using chromatography, filtration, and centrifugation as part of your downstream job duties.
- Recover and isolate proteins, antibodies, and biologics with precision, coordinating with upstream operations.
- Optimize and scale-up purification methods to the manufacturing level.
- Collaborate with QA and analytical teams to ensure adherence to quality control standards.
- Manage formulation, filling, and final product preparation.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues during purification, a crucial aspect in downstream processing.
Qualifications (Downstream):
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in protein purification and downstream operations.
- Hands-on expertise with chromatography systems (e.g., AKTA) and filtration units.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
