About the Institution
The Terrestrial Ecology Laboratory at IISER Kolkata, located in Mohanpur, West Bengal, India, is inviting applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under an ANRF project focusing on the Terai-Duar Savanna and Grasslands Ecoregion. IISER Invite one Junior Research Fellow for plant diversity, and above-ground and below-ground carbon assessments in forest and grassland ecosystems in the Terai ecoregion. This project on “Recent decadal-scale changes in land use/land cover in the Terai-Duar Savanna and Grasslands Ecoregion: Implications for terrestrial carbon cycling and plant biodiversity” is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India.

Qualifications and Requirements
Essential Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Botany/Ecology/Environmental Science/Life Science. Prior field research experience and qualification in National Exams such as CSIR/UGC NET-LS, GATE, ICAR-NET, JGEEBILS or equivalents are required.
Desirable Qualifications: Strong experience in field botany in tropical deciduous forests and grasslands, preferably in Terai ecosystems. Experience in soil sampling and laboratory analysis is highly desired.
Duration and Application Process
Duration and Salary: The initial employment will be for six months, extendable based on performance. Salary will be as per ANRF norms including HRA.
