Job Description
BRIC–NIPGR invites eligible candidates to attend a walk-in interview for the position of Research Associate-II (two positions) in the Gates Foundation-funded project titled “Development of climate-resilient brassica by gene editing”, supervised by Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Distinguished Scientist. The positions are purely temporary and will be offered initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Walk-in Interview Details
- Position: Research Associate-II (Two Positions)
- Fellowship: ₹61,000/- plus 27% HRA per month (as per norms)
- Date & Time: September 19, 2025 (Friday), from 10:00 a.m. onwards

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in molecular biology, gene editing, and crop improvement.
- Perform experiments in gene function analysis, proteomics, metabolomics, and next-generation sequencing.
- Handle computational analysis of multi-omics data and GWAS studies.
- Support project goals in climate-resilient brassica development.
- Prepare research publications and contribute to scientific reports.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Plant Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or equivalent.
- Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per the DST guidelines (DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022, dated June 26, 2023).
- Desirable: Hands-on experience in molecular biology, proteomics, metabolomics, NGS, GWAS, and gene editing.
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least one first-author publication.
