Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine microbiological tests on raw materials, intermediates (in-process), and finished products (e.g., microbial limit tests, sterility testing, bioburden, endotoxin where applicable).
- Monitor environmental conditions: air, water, surfaces, and personnel hygiene.
- Prepare and maintain culture media, microbial reagents; ensure growth promotion tests, media sterility.
- Maintain lab equipment: calibration, maintenance, cleaning, validation or qualification as required.
- Record, analyze, and interpret test data; ensure data integrity.
- Investigate non-conformances, out of specification (OOS) / out of trend (OOT) results; propose and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop, review, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions; ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain good laboratory practices (GLP) and ensure adherence to safety, cleanliness, hygiene standards.
- Ensure timely reporting of test results, sample release (after QC approval).
- Support internal audits, assist external audits / regulatory inspections as required.
- Maintain inventory of microbiological supplies and reagents, ensure stock availability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in QC microbiology (e.g., enhancing efficiency, reducing turnaround times, optimizing processes).
