About the Role
Sapien Biosciences Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate (Biobanking) to join our Hyderabad & Mumbai team. The role involves retrospective and prospective collection, processing, and management of biological samples, integration of patient data, and support for translational cancer research. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and researchers while ensuring ethical compliance and high-quality standards in biobanking.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Collection & Processing

Coordinate the collection and processing of blood, biopsy, and surgical samples at hospital sites.

Liaise with the nursing team to identify eligible patients, conduct informed consent, and collect blood samples.

Receive and process tissue/blood samples with surgical and pathology teams.

Generate DNA, RNA, serum, plasma, PBMC, ensuring identity, quality, and compliance.

Archive and curate clinical samples for research use.
Data & Documentation

Maintain comprehensive, real-time records of patient/sample data.

Report sample processing, storage, and quality issues to the Line Manager.

Manage laboratory databases and ensure accurate data entry.

Write, review, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Complete audits and ensure compliance with ethical and quality standards.
Teamwork & Communication

Work collaboratively with biobank and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow.

Provide weekly activity updates to the Line Manager.

Liaise with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, pathology teams, and researchers requesting access to samples.

Respond to stakeholder queries and requests.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Master’s degree in Life Sciences or allied discipline.

Above 2 years’ experience in Database Management / Clinical Research Organization (CRO).

Knowledge of EMR databases and careful entry of data/reports into proprietary medical databases.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi, and regional languages.

Meticulous record-keeping and strong attention to detail.

Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

Motivated, flexible, and collaborative personality with a willingness to learn in a multidisciplinary environment.
