Applications are invited for the position of Senior Research Fellows to work on “Understanding the Molecular Basis of Presynaptic Autophagy Dysregulation in the Context of Synaptopathies” under the guidance of Principal Investigator Prof. Ravi Manjithaya, Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit (MBGU) and Co-Principal Investigator Prof. Sheeba Vasu, Neuroscience Unit (NSU) JNCASR, Bangalore 560 064.

Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences / Post Graduate degree in the professional course selected through any one of the following: a) Scholars selected through National Eligibility Test – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship and GATE b) Selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc. Experience: Two years of research experience. Experience with Drosophila handling, dissection, molecular biology techniques (PCR, plasmid isolation, immunofluorescence assays), biochemical techniques (Western blotting), cell culture, recording videos of Drosophila & video analysis. Knowledge of MATLAB/Python preferred. Desirable Qualification: Interest and knowledge in Drosophila, Neurobiology, and Biochemistry. Preference for candidates with prior research experience. |
