MSc Biotechnology Job Description:
The Executive – R&D role at Meril involves hands-on molecular diagnostics research, including PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, and DNA/RNA extraction. The position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to international standards, such as ISO 13485. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate with a skilled team, support assay validation, and contribute to product innovation in molecular diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform molecular diagnostic tests, including PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, and DNA/RNA extraction.
- Prepare reagents, maintain laboratory instruments, and ensure proper sample handling.
- Interpret and record RT-PCR results in compliance with SOPs and QA standards.
- Maintain ISO 13485 documentation (calibration, IQC, EQA).
- Support validation and verification of new assays and instruments.
- Adhere to biosafety and aseptic practices in all lab operations.
- Manage lab inventory, including reagents, kits, and consumables.
- Deliver accurate reports to senior pathologists/clinicians.
- Participate in audits, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
MSc Biotechnology Job – Educational Qualifications:
M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
Experience and Skills
- 1–4 years of molecular diagnostics laboratory experience (preferably in R&D or NABL-accredited labs).
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards and lab documentation.
- Expertise in RT-PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, gel electrophoresis, and POCT-based NAAT tests.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety and biosafety practices.
- Precision and attention to detail in lab work.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to follow strict SOPs and quality compliance protocols.
