Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and non-routine microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products to verify compliance to internal & regulatory standards (e.g., total plate count, coliforms, yeast & molds, pathogens, etc.).
• Conduct environmental monitoring (swabbing of production surfaces, drains, equipment, air, etc.) and analyze the data for microbial contamination risks.
• Support sanitation and cleaning programs by validating cleaning effectiveness (before/after swabs), verifying sanitization protocols, and investigating failures.
• Analyze test results for deviations, trends, and potential microbial risks; propose corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) or non-conformities, lead root cause analysis, and follow up on corrective & preventive actions.
• Maintain, calibrate, validate, and manage microbiology laboratory equipment and instruments (autoclaves, incubators, colony counters, etc.).
• Prepare, review, and update microbiology- and QA-related SOPs, protocols, and policies.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, logs, reports, and documentation in compliance with GMP / GLP / food safety standards.
• Assist and support internal and external audits (regulatory, customer, certification audits

) with respect to microbiology / QA.
• Collaborate with Production, QC, QA, and Maintenance teams to ensure adherence to hygiene, process control, and microbial safety protocols.
• Train production and quality staff in good microbiological practices, sampling, handling, aseptic techniques, and hygiene protocols.
• Stay updated with regulatory requirements, industry best practices (HACCP, ISO, FSSAI, etc.) and implement improvements proactively.
