Job Overview
Optum is hiring for the Medical Coding Analyst role at its Hyderabad office. This position requires certified medical coders who are detail-oriented, team-driven, and proficient in applying international medical coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement AMA, AHA, and CMS guideline updates effectively.
- Review and analyze medical records, adding/modifying CPT codes for procedures, vaccines, and lab codes.
- Extract and code screening CPT and HCPCS codes from documentation.
- Review NCCI edits, LCD & NCD determinations, and update ICD-10-CM, CPT codes, and modifiers accordingly.
- Collaborate with large teams to improve quality and productivity.
- Organize and prioritize coding work to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA policies and maintain confidentiality.
- Comply with organizational policies, employment terms, and directives as required.
Education & Experience
- Graduate degree in Life Sciences.
- Certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA (accepted certifications: CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC).
- Valid coding certification ID required at the interview/offer stage.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
- Familiarity with system security protocols and data confidentiality measures.
