Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our team in New Delhi. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques and a strong background in genetics or biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities
• Extraction of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) from biological materials, including prenatal samples.
• Performing quality control (QC) for nucleic acids.
• Processing samples for fragment analysis-based tests such as MCC and Aneuploidy (QF-PCR), and repeat nucleotide disorders.
• Handling Sanger sequencing (Single variant & Prenatal) and MLPA-based tests.
• Analysis, interpretation, and reporting for MCC, QF-PCR, Sanger, and MLPA data.
• Preparation of NGS libraries and sequencing.
• Updating LIMS & MIS systems to ensure seamless workflow.
• Inventory management, ensuring timely updates and proper lab organization.
• Documentation of worksheets, instrument logs, and process-related records.
• Coordinating with managers for sample processing, QC checks, and maintaining turnaround times.
• Contributing to CAP accreditation activities and ensuring compliance with CAP standards.
• Adhering strictly to lab quality processes and SOPs.
• Training new team members on SOPs and workflows.
• Supporting test optimization and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintaining a cordial and professional working relationship within the team.
Qualifications & Skills
• Master’s degree in Human Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology and genetic testing.
• Proficiency in nucleic acid extraction, QC, Sanger sequencing, MLPA, QF-PCR, and NGS workflows.
• Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Experience with LIMS/MIS systems and compliance with CAP or equivalent accreditation processes is preferred.
