About IISER Kolkata – Terrestrial Ecology Laboratory:
The Terrestrial Ecology Laboratory at IISER Kolkata is dedicated to conducting research on plant diversity, terrestrial carbon assessments, and ecosystem dynamics in the unique Terai-Duar Savanna and Grasslands Ecoregion. Led by Dr. Robert John Chandran, the laboratory focuses on understanding decadal-scale changes in land use/land cover and their implications for terrestrial carbon cycling and plant biodiversity.

Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Botany/Ecology/Environmental Science/Life Science
- Relevant skills in the field of botany and prior field research experience
- Qualified in at least one National Exam like CSIR/UGC NET-LS, GATE, ICAR-NET, JGEEBILS
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in tropical deciduous forests and grasslands
- Knowledge of soil sampling and laboratory analysis
Duration and Salary: Six months, extendable based on performance. Salary per ANRF norms.
