About the Project
The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position is being offered under the DBT-funded project (P-07/1324) titled: “Therapeutic modulation of circadian rhythmicity and viability of platelets to control thrombogenicity and improve platelet shelf life.”
This cutting-edge project aims to explore novel therapeutic approaches for extending platelet shelf life and controlling thrombogenicity, with significant applications in healthcare and transfusion medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments related to platelet viability and thrombogenicity.
- Study circadian rhythmicity and its therapeutic modulation in relation to platelet biology.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
- Assist in the preparation of research manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
- Collaborate with research teams and contribute to the overall objectives of the DBT-funded project.
Position Overview

- Project Duration: Initially 6 months (extendable based on performance and project continuation)
- Location: Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi – 221005
- Emoluments: ₹37,000/- per month + 18% HRA
- Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualification:
- Post-Graduate degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Zoology with at least 55% marks.
- Desirable Qualification/Experience:
- Research experience in platelet or thrombus biology is highly desirable.

- Age Limit:
- Maximum 28 years.
- Age relaxations: 5 years for Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates, as per Government of India norms.
