About the Project

The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position is being offered under the DBT-funded project (P-07/1324) titled: “Therapeutic modulation of circadian rhythmicity and viability of platelets to control thrombogenicity and improve platelet shelf life.”

This cutting-edge project aims to explore novel therapeutic approaches for extending platelet shelf life and controlling thrombogenicity, with significant applications in healthcare and transfusion medicine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments related to platelet viability and thrombogenicity.
  • Study circadian rhythmicity and its therapeutic modulation in relation to platelet biology.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
  • Assist in the preparation of research manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with research teams and contribute to the overall objectives of the DBT-funded project.

Position Overview

  • Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Project Duration: Initially 6 months (extendable based on performance and project continuation)
  • Location: Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi – 221005
  • Emoluments: ₹37,000/- per month + 18% HRA
  • Eligibility Criteria
    • Essential Qualification:
      • Post-Graduate degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Zoology with at least 55% marks.
    • Desirable Qualification/Experience:
      • Research experience in platelet or thrombus biology is highly desirable.
  • Age Limit:
    • Maximum 28 years.
    • Age relaxations: 5 years for Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates, as per Government of India norms.
