Job Description
This is a contract position for one Post-Doctoral Translation Scientist with 0-2 years of experience. The role, based at C-CAMP’s Discovery to Innovation Accelerator (DIA), focuses on designing and executing
translational research. The successful candidate will work on various projects, from laboratory experiments to field trials, with the ultimate goal of commercializing research findings.Key Responsibilities
- Research Execution: Design and execute translational research and protocols for various DIA projects. This includes conducting laboratory experiments, field trials, and validation studies, followed by the collection and analysis of the resulting data.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all experiments and ensure data is readily accessible to reporting authorities. Prepare grant applications and proposals, and generate detailed progress reports and presentations.
- Collaboration & Knowledge: Participate in project and lab meetings, staying updated with advancements in agricultural sciences, regulatory guidelines, and industry trends. Collaborate with a larger team of professionals at DIA and C-CAMP.
- Travel & Training: Occasionally travel for project requirements. You will also be expected to undertake training on new techniques and subsequently train other team members.
Qualifications
- Education: A PhD in any discipline of Agriculture, Plant Sciences, or associated fields. Exceptional candidates who have submitted their thesis will also be considered.
- Experience: 0-2 years of postdoctoral or industry experience.
- Key Skills: A strong track record of publications/patents. Demonstrable understanding of Intellectual Property (IP) management, productization, and commercialization is desirable. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to agriculture (e.g., pesticide/biopesticide regulations) is preferred.
- Additional Preference: Candidates holding a National-Level fellowship certificate (e.g., CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF, GATE, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF) will be given preference.
