Role Overview:
As a Screening Editor, you will manage a select group of journals, ensuring that manuscripts meet rigorous editorial standards. You will serve as the primary liaison between editors and authors, support the peer-review process, and contribute to developing the journal portfolio through indexing, abstracting, and promotion. This hybrid, entry-level role enables you to deepen your expertise in open-access publishing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-peer review checks on manuscripts after training and probation
  • Recommend further action for submissions, including clarification or resubmission
  • Coordinate with Peer Review Associates to ensure workflow adherence
  • Communicate effectively with editors, authors, reviewers, and Sage staff worldwide
  • Maintain high-quality and timely editorial operations
  • Develop editorial knowledge and proficiency through training and hands-on work

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate in Life Sciences with 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and practical written and oral communication skills
  • An understanding of peer review and scientific manuscripts is desirable but not mandatory
  • Cover letter required, submitted with CV as a single document
